Success is depressing because it teaches so much less than we expect it to. Failure is depressing because it dumps more learning potential on us than we can handle. Blend in the right proportion and you'll beat depression. Non-depression indicates your optimal learning rate.

Yeah paint I didn't say sublimate I said aestheticize. I didn't say purge I said deep freeze. Writing a book exposing an external ugliness is the opposite of what I'm getting at. A book making comedy out of a personal failure would be more like it.
