I don’t think noting that Kim Jong-Un’s sister beats Pence on TV charisma counts as supporting North Korea over the US. It’s merely observing skill at optics.

Most Americans think that they won the war against Hitler (and not the Soviet Union), that they didn't start the Vietnam and Afghan war, or that Putin stole the elections. I wouldn't call people idiots, but media spin generally works.

That's my point. People believe what they're motivated to. It isn't spin, it is people. The spin follows rather than leadsvthe prejudices. Here, conservatives *want* to believe liberals are unpatriotic.

We are not truly tribal; tribes are immutably related by birth. We are a state building species, focusing on ideologies and Gods, and media are often the voices of egregores. They are often created to spark.
