If inequality came down, left extremism and SJWism would likely dissipate naturally. It feels 90% like misdirected economic anger. Harder to see what might drive right extremism down since it appears to be rooted in identity loss rather than economics.

It'd seem to depend on the mechanism in which inequality is alleviated; conservatives can tolerate high amounts of inequality as long as they believe results are "justly" distributed (using whatever idiosyncratic metrics they like), but likely wouldn't tolerate redistribution.

(Granted, these are actual "conservatives", not alt-right identitarians; for all intents and purposes I treat those as having exact same pathology as extreme SJWs, which may or may not be alleviated via economics. It's an interesting question.
