Why does nobody really talk about labor force participation rates going up and down?
Talking about unemployment rate going up and down without reference to participation rates is like... uhh.. talking about bitcoin-denominated alt prices without talking about btc-usd rate.

Actually I feel like this is all I’ve heard about since ~2010, especially in context of men falling behind women. It’s like the post-recession secret that everyone keeps (re)discovering.

Same here. It's like contrarianism 101 - you know that someone has just started down the "cleverer than thou" path when they mention labor force participation rates every time someone else mentions unemployment rates.

Lemme amend to... nobody who *matters* ever talks about it. It's like a conspiracy to prop up the misleading reality.
