It’s not actually that different from stereotypically feminine modes of relating Happened to catch a bit of the Bachelorette once, and though all the guys were cut and studly, their behavior seemed off to me... then my wife remarked: they’re acting like a bunch of mean girls

In fact “bro” culture is kinda feminine in its approach to navigating hierarchies. Straight-up alpha dominance behavior doesn’t really work in modern work except maybe in military. So they find a way to blend “feminine” tactics with overcompensation via masculinity signaling
