So is "the ladder of abstraction" an anti-intellectual framework, because abstraction goes upward? worrydream.com/LadderOfAbstra

Possibly. Bret Victor thinks interesting thoughts, but doesn’t seem to actually enjoy thinking.

My impression is thinking is the *only* thing he enjoys! Your #68 made me think of him. ("The intellectual experiences genuine delight in seeing computers think thoughts they cannot think.") I don't know anyone as excited about computing as "media for thinking the unthinkable."

Depth metaphor felt too 2-D. I prefer a gordian knot or strange loops characterization which preserves inwardedness while adding dimensionality which is core feature of intellectualizing.
Anti-intellectuals tend to prefer flatness.
Some kiki / bouba at play here too methinks.
