Don’t bother tangling with the fervor of sincere moral self-certainty even if it is accompanied by sincere affirmation of epistemic openness.
It amounts to the claim “I’ll listen and learn facts, but I am confident of my goodness and there’s no moral development here for me.”

What are the indicators of someone who is at once confident and humble? (ie, able to go a direction--not paralyzed by uncertainty--but also always willing to change it)

Deadly earnest playfulness
When you're willing to listen you're only willing to change your mind
When you're willing to play in earnest you're also willing to change your heart
Confidence and humility have no simple relationship to this I think
