Machines should continue supplanting all real, hard thinking for us, but intellectualism as conflict resolution (instead of status posturing or physical fighting) is a good ideal and should be revitalized at some point.

Without steelman intellectualism we go back to premodern society. So more reliance on social skills, less functional legal and commercial systems (less wealth), less social mobility

Anti-intellectuals practice believing things that are not supported by evidence. Belief without evidence is a skill. Practice makes perfect and the skill transfers to other areas of life. The quality of one's life is determined by how well we interact with reality.
