Is it normal to feel exhausted by the brilliance of things said by younger people, who seem mostly unaware of how smart they’re being?
Or am I just projecting unconscious aged wisdom on naive blather? An ‘out of the mouths of babes’ thing?
I’m going with the projection thing.

'out of the mouth of babes' is a legit phenomenon anyway. in a way, it's an observed phenomenon, like a rainbow – ie it's brilliant because you observed it to be brilliant

Not necessarily. Young brains can burn very brightly. I know that feeling of awe you are talking about. Maturity and understanding definitely come in parts.
