It's a PAID programming language. Contemplate this phrase for a moment. If that does not sound like "stone money" or "geocentric model" to you, then i don't know how to explain it.

I think of it as paying for the hermetically sealed IDE really. One could argue that the language itself has a free alt (octave) but the support and evolution is shaky enough that you can’t treat it as a forget-the-outside-world sandbox.

Python never did figure out its 2.x vs 3.x schizophrenia did it? So there’s now 2 forks indefinitely evolving?

Unless someone else is picking your tools for you, there is no reason to use Python 2 today, and you will not lack anything if you exclusively use Python 3. Everything that matters is written for Python 3.

I think you would learn a lot more by taking Andrew Ng’s DL course: https://www.deeplearning.ai/ It uses python, but all the complexity is taken care of with a brower-based dev env
