There seems to be a lot of good commentary on paleo hunting and gathering cultures and the transition to agriculture, but very little on early fishing cultures and their influence on civilization. Any recommendations? Looking for fishy insights into 20,000 BC - 4000 BC period

To answer a different question, there's one theory that the final stage of human evolution was reached by a largely coastal fishing population in South Africa when they were isolated by uninhabitability of the middle swath of Africa something like 60,000 BC.
