I literally have no idea how much energy my apartment uses. This is like not knowing whether your car gets 10mpg or 50mpg.

I’ve never done that math, I don’t even look at the bill (wife pays it). It should be a meter, not paperwork, since live dynamic usage level is the key

And by that I mean - even the utility doesn’t know or care about the actual per minute usage and they charge you based on an average

NZ (the country) has all this, good place to google for this sort of thing. NZ has 'retailers' that price consumers through to the grid spot market in realtime now, its nuts
