I literally have no idea how much energy my apartment uses. This is like not knowing whether your car gets 10mpg or 50mpg. Feels like a big gap in infrastructure situation awareness.
I’ve never done that math, I don’t even look at the bill (wife pays it). It should be a meter, not paperwork, since live dynamic usage level is the key

Slightly related: your bill actually averages usage by hour, crazily enough. Some jurisdictions even average by day or month.

And by that I mean - even the utility doesn’t know or care about the actual per minute usage and they charge you based on an average
