We basically got 100 years of development for free by scooping oil out of the ground. Need to transition to a different model before we run out.

Why? Electric transportation is salvation, a way to stave off the malthusian trap.

I guess you can be depressed about this, but as a ~solution~ it seems exciting to have on the horizon, however slowly it comes.
