Though I've probably gotten 10x better at arguing in a zero-sum debate compared to 20y ago, I've got 100x less inclined. It's a weird feeling: being able to spot lines of attack/defense and patterns of evidence, but then just suspending the instinct to act almost always.

Tolstoy was wrong :D His problem is that he discovered religion in later life. Made him overvalue happiness and thus lose it.
