Though I've probably gotten 10x better at arguing in a zero-sum debate compared to 20y ago, I've got 100x less inclined.
It's a weird feeling: being able to spot lines of attack/defense and patterns of evidence, but then just suspending the instinct to act almost always.

His problem is that he discovered religion in later life. Made him overvalue happiness and thus lose it.
