What's "functional" mean here?
Integration thinking tools like mind maps and 2x2s used to be like stilts or telescopes for me a few years back. Ways to increase reach beyond natural ability. Now they're more like crutches or glasses. Needed to get up to 'functional'.

It's hard to keep all the models in short term memory it seems. Maybe they're available subconsciously, but I also have found that mapping out the system helps to support thought since the active part seeks new info and the already found sits there on the page.
