Who do you think has done *better* for the nuclear industry than Mike, who has actually been going around the world lobbying to keep plants open--and succeeding?https://twitter.com/mateosfo/status/936409234488434688 …

@mateosfo FWIW, I think this 'take' falls into the "I would go about solving problem X in a way differently than agent Y has, therefore Y has been a force of destruction against X," which is a line of argumentation we are perhaps all susceptible to but is probably rarely true.1 reply 0 retweets 6 likesShow this thread -

No, I'm honestly agnostic about low-carbon tech and while it's disappointing, if the nuclear industry wants to hang the Shellenberger albatross around its neck, it's free to do so.

About 5 years ago I wrote a paper on Mike and the BTI, and they were so far off of environmental mainstream re nuclear, they presented a striking alternative. Now at least people like you are "agonistic"! ;)

Bill Gates, among others, has some of the most interesting investments in the space, mostly in small module reactors (such as found on aircraft carriers). A breakthrough there would be monumental.https://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2010/03/bill-gates-goes-nuclear/37886/ …
