Anyone know of research on how true tribes distribute collectively won resources/spoils of conflict? I'd imagine there is a natural inequality curve for humans (like lion's share effect... alpha gets X% more than beta and so on). Do matriarchal species like elephants differ?

Dunno. But worth noting that 50/50 sharing is by far the most popular sharecropping / other sharing the spoils arrangement throughout history/ geography.

Not directly on point, but I recommend Sarah Hrdy's Mothers and Others. Especially revealing when read in conjunction with David Hackett Fischer's Albion's Seed.

I've read Debt. I don't think it is a good starting point for this particular question though it is for others.
