An absurdly stupid amendment. I suspect it was just delay theater, but wow. Shoving a redistribution agenda *into* a tax reduction agenda in a way that would cripple business autonomy while 10xing reporting burden? This is tax sarcastaball.

UPDATE: Democrats just offered an amendment to ensure corporations use their tax savings to raise employee wages at the same rate they increase executive pay, stock buybacks and dividends to shareholders. Every single Republican voting, voted NO. #GOPTaxPlan

One of the selling points for the tax cuts was increased employee wages. She used this amendment to essentially call their bluff and now has some form of “proof” to use in future political theatre. That’s far from absurdly stupid. That’s politics.

Virtue signally. "See, GOP won't help the little guy" Dem's sense a loss coming and want to make sure they have fodder for attack ads. It's not policy at this point, it's politics

I don't think it's so much "delay" theatre as "get GOP votes on the record that might look bad in a future campaign." Definitely sarcastaball.
