Is there a term for a method/idea that works if you accept it 100% in a 100% ideal context, but the slightest deviation from ideal context and execution kills effectiveness by huge fraction? Like missing doses of certain medicines tanks the effects precipitously

Yes, that’s true for the link i cited. But in some corners of economics, the term “brittle” is used more generally to describe any system or result that decays rapidly as you move away from ideal conditions.

True, now that you mention it, I can think of a few such examples too. All in very technical usage though. In common usage robust/brittle seems to always refer to structuralist understandings, not behavioral or functional (ie a 'system' object is assumed)
