Pondering a possible definition of art
A work is art in proportion to the unpredictability of the locus of its maximal perceived value.
If you know exactly who will appreciate it the most it is weak art.

explores a compelling definition of art in Understanding Comics and Reinventing Comics - "Any activity which does not have the primary purpose of survival or reproduction" - to me judging as art/not-art is a fool's game, judging good art/bad art is pure subjectivity

It's only a fool's game if you want it to be. I find it very interesting and critical to improving what I do.

OP seems more concerned with plotting an art's value on a spectrum and deeming it a "strong" or "weak" art rather than defining "this is art / that is not art" - historically it seems when people talk about what art is they're talking about what they're willing to pay for

That's valuable for calibration and setting challenges for yourself (it can also be an excuse for pointless arguments of course, but then everything can be)
