I doubt that. The games linked to war are probably MMOs (was: chess and go). I know many business types who play poker but zero military types who play MtG. Only techies.

Hmm. Many Pro MtG players have gone on to be Pro poker players. Not sure what that implies for the analogy though.

I'm vaguely, loosely thinking politics or academia. Primary difference between poker and MTG is, in MTG you construct your own deck Might be more reasonable to consider each as diff subsets of business world. MTG feels more "CEO-ish", poker feels more "free-agent"-ish

The data shows the exact opposite I think. CEOs playing poker is almost cliche in SV. All the serious MtG people I know are free agents. Possibly a yin-yang dynamic. You play the game your shadow picks.
