Can't help thinking the NN debate is somewhat moot since it seems clear the next generation networks will likely segment traffic by service using protocol tokens or something (like CDMA but with a packet economics attached??).

The end-to-end principle behind NN needs revision when packets are genuinely different in loss/delay sensitivity needs.
