People in early 20s sometimes email me asking how to get into the kind of consulting I do.
My response is always: why on earth would you waste your precious early 20s top-grade brain power on management consulting? Save it for if/when your more ambitious swings at life fail :)

I have been recommending a couple of years of management consulting as formative/early career experience in order to maximize exposure to a number of different industries and situations. Feeds breadth vs depth, teaches selling etc. Bad trade off?
