Just finished a well-intentioned but bad book because it was the only one available on the topic. The author clearly didn't realize it was bad and seems to be a nice person. Book exudes Dunning-Kruger pride. This makes me much sadder than I'd have expected it to.

popularly available books on, say, wellness/nutrition are all like this, but one end of barbell = “well-intentioned but bad” other=“barely supressed malevolence.” (D-K pride runs wild either way) Encountering this but on interesting, underexplored topics would sadden me too. 😕
