I know I’m an obvious offender, but I promise I’m one of those “For Greater Freedom” types. Which is yet another failure mode. I’m working on it.

Singapore has a relatively small-ish group of people (usually grumpy aunties) who complain to authorities about trivial things – and then these complaints get acted on, and next thing you know there are all sorts of barricades and unnecessary intrusions / restrictions

Eg I have to walk through/past these idiot pointless barricades (behind the cat) every day because someone complained that people were cycling. Easily averted by paying a bit of attention. But now everyone suffers daily indignity of feeling like cattlepic.twitter.com/td6qWA95p5

People instinctually try to mold environment so that they feel they have an edge? So if you see yourself as not being creative enough etc you don't really like freedom etc...
