It's no more a binary than "asymmetric" is. "More" and "less" powerful can still make exchanges which aren't exploitative or charitable.

I'm not confident it's of utility to put these on the same continuum. Both terms are also committed to a particular sense. One can gain from an interaction without it being exploitation. One can nurture things not beneficial.
