      Think about it: typefaces replacing calligraphy was an early example of minimalist/lean design replacing rich/fat design. Now phone icons.

      Yes I can. There were schools/styles. Single-use executions are the logical limit of bespoke design.

      Would you call greek column styles 3 different design types? Design is always utilitarian, calligraphy requires ink and time.
