Yes. Shared deadlines are easy. The problem is when nobody but you cares about the project.

Yes ... what do you do with projects that don't have such a date? Just do 'em whenever?

I do mostly infrastructure stuff so pretty much yeah. Sooner is better but deliverables are wheneverish, more bounded by money than time.

Money can be a powerful deadline-creator. I find projects that are truly SMART (including the T) get done. Those that are not do not.

ah k I'm not really concerned about "done", only "doneish", or perhaps "nuggets of 'done' floating in a soup of never-gonna-be-done".

I've got plenty of those too. emphasizes the distinction b/w Projects and Areas. These are things that squarely fall into P.

Area of focus in gtd sense seems more passive though
.' refinement of GTD areas of focus (& forcing the distinction between them & projects) is a big improvement on the original.
