I hate to say metaverse, but so far that seems to be the best / most likely path to it is the spatialization of the 2D web

The problem w/ Mirror World is that it's a special case metaverse with a 1:1 relationship with the real world; it's not a general expression

But if you're talking about the tools, then I begrudgingly say MR, since it too can be a general expression where AR and VR are specific

I much prefer xR for expanded reality, and appreciate the way x can also be read as a variable to cover A, M, and V

The xR expression has found soild traction in developer land, but selling people on 'expanded reality' has proved to be a lonlier crusade

Which is not to imply I coined the xR expression, just that I've tried w/o success to get the x interpreted as expanded as well as a varible

I think developers ultimately won't end up deciding the name that gains traction... I suspect metaverse and xR are dead-on-arrival w genpop

Possible candidates: many worlds, multiverse, subweb (subculture-web), digital subspace... in general I prefer sub to meta as level prefix
