Absinthe is not for getting drunk I think. High alcohol content, but you need enough water to release aromatics. No point drinking neat.

In the original recipes, the wormwood was a mild hallucinogen. Modern stuff not so much. Good as flavoring agent in a Sazerac, I guess.
