where are you seeing 'growing consensus'? Cal Newport is really only voice there. Rest are lifestyle design snowflakes

Right? Some seem to think u only do that when you're rich and have a personal assistant, but it's precedent not antecedent

In practice from what I've seen, wealth drives Jevon's paradox. You get spread thinner, not more focused.
