what, in your opinion, is the difference between feeling irritated and feeling threatened?

the difference in effort to solve feeling irritated as opposed to being fearful, probably.

yes, but when they *are* distinct, what's the qual difference? Eg. child bugging you for icecream vs. lion chasing you...
so a lion rushing to attack you is only a threat, rather than an irritation, in your head? seems a tad solipsistic...

points along a spectrum. Irritation is the precursor, canary in the coal mine, to feeling threatened, if only in terms of ego
