How good is this h/w for video editing? Good enough to do simple edits on an hour-long HD movie like adding title slide? (iMovie freezes up)

I have a 500GB internal ssd with ~366 available...also weird that when I run iMovie it reports cpu at 180%

... high noise and heating, so I imagine it's actually going all out though 180 seems odd since it isn't overclocked

I have to conclude it's the crappiness of iMovie. Maybe I should try Premiere or FCT

with all other apps closed, no monitor, loading a 1h12m video of 370MB choked my MBP

Maybe querying support.apple.com/en-us/HT202043 would help. More RAM is always better. My MBAir has the IIG 5000 & 8 meg & video editing is slow

The last MacBook Pro release was almost two years ago. Previous releases were 9 months apart.
You may want to wait for the next one.
