Supersonic commercial jets like Boom don't seem like a big deal to me tbf. NY-Lon in 3h instead of 6h feels incremental relative to 3d ->3h

though rail often has better feeder connectivity. Easier to get to Acela points than airports.

uhh Boom is a startup building a concorde 2.0. I'm not talking about sonic booms. Which can't be felt/heard anyway inside :D

yeah, I get that that threshold is crossed, and day trips become possible etc. I just don't think the delta on impact is there
transit center under construction in downtown SF w/ bays for high speed rail. SFO sits 30 min south of here in good traffic.
I do have basis for comparison (asian HSR) and can say trains offer considerable more comfort and legroom
yes. I'm saying I prefer shorter commute time to/from city center, vastly more comfortable seating, and lower security hassle
