Subscription apps. I can see no real downside for anyone. Why did it take so long?

The short answer about taking so long is the underlying payment infrastructure was never designed for it

Because stripe offers recurring doesn’t mean it works well for a business. Card breakage is hard

It’s always been there, it’s just been way too expensive due to a host of issues
And stripe can offer you 15% subscriber attrition too!

Card specific churn. Again, it’s always been there - it was just a 30% cut to Apple
