Does it make sense to say that a stock that plunges sharply & recovers slowly with rising cycles, is undergoing "tempering" for "toughness"?

linguistically, yes. But bears no relationship to the actual 'toughness' of a stock. Bc what is 'toughness'?

fair, but I don't think A causes B. There are lower volatility stocks. But I don't think it's bc of past price action.
