Why is material tech, unlike social tech, not susceptible to nirvana fallacy? Why don't we complain that planes aren't teleport devices?

Software though, is in between material tech and social tech. Sometimes we nirvana-fallacy it, sometimes we don't.

Theory: with atoms we assume "if it doesn't already exist, there is probably a physics reason." With bits we assume, "it hasn't been tried"
