These days when I think about a hard problem, instead of getting stimulation-insomnia, I get anticipatory exhaustion and fall asleep. 😕

You may be different, but my solve is to enumerate/list major/minor steps written or types. Then mentally ignore all except current.

it's a trigger to pick up a notebook & enumerate steps. The notebook acts as "memory" and relieves mental burden of all steps at once.

Using phone or computer is partial substitute but the act of hand writing is more calming and productive in cleaning my "mental cache."
