I think that's highly unlikely. It will be a virtuous cycle arms race driven by competition, not feel good ethical system.

No, the ads arms race is a vicious cycle. You can have a virtuous cycle version that creates rather than hollows.
"accurately identifying existing demand" limits you to customer-driven mindsets. Demand creation remains key. Just needs diff means
"conditioned by unwanted ad intrusions" again hinges on accepting existing "wants" as sacrosanct.
Should not mistake the unwantedness of messaging intrusions with not being open to new wants altogether.
Economic vitality is still driven by the introduction of things we didn't know we wanted into society, one way or another
Hmm. I still think there's a fundamental difference. I think the adversarial nature will be retained in whatever comes next.
Adversarial != bad. Creative adversarial relationships is what drives the economy.
