What species have humans tried but failed to domesticate?

bison, zebras, hippo, elephant, rhino etc. The list tried&failed to domesticate should be much bigger than tried&succeeded right?

. yeah. Looking for commonality. Unpredictability under stress and non-breeding under captivity seems to be a common factor.

I make the case that we haven't; over enough generations we just weed out the 'bad' and breed the 'good'. Why domesticate a gorilla?

that's what domestication means. Once you get captive breeding going, you can apply artificial selection pressure.

I saw tame lizards on a Yosemite trail last week. They would practically run into my hands. Maybe they've been fed lots of beef jerky?
