I don't understand exactly how Indiana's RFRA is different from Schumer's 1993 thing which appears to be on many state books? What's new?

it's just new, and the tone of the conversation around it is very interesting compared to noise around other similar bills.

This is the first time I've seen this much split between a major city and its containing state, and Indianapolis badly wants gay money.

To be fair though, I am paying more attention to this than other laws because I am a gay person who goes to GenCon every year. :B

I think so. I am familiar with most of the players involved and visit the city regularly, and it directly hits me, so I care more. :/
