Save The Cat offers ten story buckets. I don't think one model is best, but acceptance of story non-uniqueness matters.

I find the extremes useful (1 patter, 10s of 1000s...). The intermediate ones like 2, 3, 7, 15...seem less useful

The intermediate ones are most useful for writing, in my experience. Depends on if you’re writing or framing everythings.

Sometimes you write a book about all narratives, other times you have 2 weeks to produce a 4000 word piece of fiction. :)
