oh politeness IS demanding. to navigate sensibilities, keeping "proper" alive... it's not only paralyzing, but ineffectual.

I'm saying it's just 1% of the game. For example, even detecting that somebody HAS a particular insecurity requires psych skill

yeah. and how t act upon it, with tools at hand... make it exponential with other people in the room... paralyzing.

too much of it, and you end up with tame discussions, only what can be said in a dinner table. which is awfully poor for what's needed.
