What's the point of a product being "hand-crafted" if it's one of thousands? What's the point of hand-crafted if you don't know who made it?

I only care if knowing helps assess quality ("non-Markovian" products). Knowing provenance for its own sake seems pointless.

That's kinda what I'm getting at—wanna-be provenance overlaid on processes designed to eliminate all interest in provenance.

lol, fair enough. Can help satisfy social justice ideals though (fair trade etc.), if not QA. If believable that is.
