Voted yes. This is a slim chance here of a face-saving exit for him, and a non-dumpster-fire outcome for Twitter as a center-right platform. Unlike Trump he’s young enough for a redemptive third act comeback, and Tesla and SpaceX are worthwhile reasons to root for one.

This is of course as insincere as all previous polls, but this one’s worth a tactical push anyway. He already indicated in the Tesla lawsuit some weeks back that he plans to install a successor and step back, but if he needs a manufactured poll result to help, let’s give him one.

Agreed. There aren't many off-ramps that save face for him. He's being smart enough to manufacture one. Twitter *is* an online town square, and it would be good for it not to become even more of a hellsite.

Why should a platform have a political angle beyond "no nazis, no hate crimes"? It's always had the whole spectrum beyond that and that's surely best, however much I dislike the other side
