Good thread. Obvious unless woke derangement syndrome is blinding you. For all its elitist faults, bluecheck-nobility culture (RIP) was strong enough to prevent owner authoritarianism but too weak to police the narrative. Now it’s an imperial rather than democratic public space.

Thoughts on Twitter, Musk, and the destruction of the virtual public square.   The end may be near. No amount of snark or schadenfreude will change the fact that this situation is a disaster. Twitter has always been a mess – but also a crucial instrument to democratize America.

I’m confused by your response. What does it being a feature of society have to do with the desire to root it out? And why is child safety a fixation of the right and not all parents?

A selectively deployed stalking horse for broad social conservative politics (hence Epstein cabal being treated as a bigger deal than say Catholic Church abuse), combined with a convenient panic button and unconscious projection of repressed creepy shit in for eg “purity” culture

So being endemic = no reason to try and reduce it? Does this work with: Hateful rhetoric? Viruses? Obesity? Hunger Drug abuse? Poverty? BTW, opposition to child sex trafficking could also been seen as "endemic", since the vast majority of people would align that way.
