I’ve always wondered why a guy who helped create a large and diverse dataset of founders and companies descends into derpistan like this to join wagon-circling defensive movements. Perhaps because seed startups are like stem cells and don’t vary much till later.

It's remarkable how many people who've never run any kind of company think they know how to run a tech company better than someone who's run Tesla and SpaceX.

Is it obvious to you that he's wrong? It's been like two weeks. Seems like the jury's still out on how this will play out in the long run.

Wrong that people are overconfident when they conclude that Elon is crashing and burning and that Twitter is toast. (That's how I interpreted his tweet anyway.)

Which people? Is he engaging any particular view, like for eg the idea that infrastructure is at risk because key people are gone? It’s a sentiment vs sentiment punching down take. This is basically a lord saying “shut up plebes, long live the king” Worst sort of bluecheckery

I interpret it as an epistemic point: you should question yourself if you think you know more about running a company than someone who has run several sucessful ones. And that is a very good point. People with assertions/predictions on Twitter should indeed question themselves.

Most are just Elon haters, best is to ignore most of these people who haven’t built/ run their startups, let alone turning around companies from almost going under to profitability, Musk has done that time and again!
