Every over-capitalized startup that stayed private too long and/or took waves of big PE or sovereign money should be considered generational wealth transfer to urban middle classes whether or not the participated early enough on the equity side to make financial gains.

I made ~$600 net from my small long twtr due to the buyout but lost more on tsla as a result, but am not really mad because 15y of being here has probably added like 100s of ks worth of social+financial wealth to my life. Thanks to Jack and founding/managing crew over the years.

Whatever emerges after this death and resurrection, it won’t be a continuation of what we have now. So a moment of silence for classic twitter. I’ll still be here watching birth and evolution of Musk twitter for as long as it’s fun but my usage will likely shift unpredictably

actually yes I spent 6 years in American academia and have like 3 friends I'm still connected to, and they were from an off-campus type connection
